A Sports HD is a sports channel based in Pakistan. It was planned in 2016 and launched on October 16, 2021, as a part of ARY Digital Network. Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Wahab Riaz, and Misbah ul Haq announced their addition to the cricket experts panel on October 9, 2021. It will air the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November 2022, complete with special pre- and post-match analysis programs.
A-Sports, the country’s first HD sports channel, officially launched with a ceremony presided over by Fakhr-e-Alam and attended by Mr. Salman Iqbal, President and CEO Chief Executive Officer of ARY Digital Network.
Salman Iqbal, who spoke at the event, stated that the channel, the first of its type in Pakistan, will support all professional sports played in the nation besides cricket.
Owner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Karachi Kings, Salman Iqbal, has always promoted the belief that he should provide local athletes and sports with enough chances to show their skills on a larger stage.
Salman Iqbal stated, “A-Sports supports this cause and we will try to promote every sport in the nation through this channel.”
Along with legendary cricketers Wahab Riaz, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Pakistani pacer Waqar Younis, well-known dramatist and comedian Anwar Maqsood was present at the launch ceremony.
On Sunday, October 17, 2021, the station will begin broadcasting the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Legendary cricketers Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Misbah-ul-Haq, and bowler Wahab Riaz will also provide pre- and post-match analysis to A-Sports fans.
